You swap keys weekly or want something that stays shiny.

What they'll ask

Is that a keyring or a tiny sculpture?

What you'll say

Both. It's one bent brass rod, and the end screws shut.

Why it's on the wall

Most keyrings are stamped wire that bends open after a year. This is a solid brass rod bent into a single closed loop, with a threaded end that unscrews to take keys on and off. Nothing snaps, and nothing pries your thumbnail. It's the cheapest object on the wall and the one most likely to still be with you in ten years.

Living with it

Brass darkens fast in a pocket. Within weeks it goes from shiny to a warm, uneven brown. If you want it bright, polish it. We didn't. Adding a key takes a few seconds of unscrewing, so it suits a set you don't change much.
