Drop 01

How we choose

An object stays when we would live with it and can say what it is made of.

Finish alone, a logo alone, or a story we have not checked does not make the list.

Price is part of the note — not a ranking. A thirty-dollar keyring and a five-hundred-dollar lamp can sit in the same drop if both are honest about what they are.

We use the maker’s own pictures and specifications. Pack shots and lifestyle scenes are labeled. If a studio background was removed, the credit says so. If we cannot show the object accurately, it does not go on the page.

Drop 01 is a desk and a kitchen. Sleep, carry, and tools wait until there is something worth adding. The Closed Helix is a thing you carry; it lives with the desk until that list exists.

At least seven of every ten objects should be small-maker, archival, limited, or unusual. Bestsellers only earn a slot when they still start a conversation.

Curation rule

The site is a small exhibition, not a shop. Each drop is a titled hang. The placard — maker, year, material, edition, and the line a guest would ask — is the signature. If an object cannot earn that line, it waits.

Pictures

  • Maker photographs, credited.
  • Pack shot or lifestyle named in the credit.
  • Background removed only when the credit says so.

Buying

  • Links go to the maker.
  • We may earn a commission if you buy through our links.
  • It never changes the price or the pick.
